Matsuri Yatai Phoenix
Part of the Vault-12 Historic Art Collection — Archive 01, this T-shirt features Matsuri Yatai Phoenix (Hōō-zu) by legendary Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, created in 1844 during the late Edo period.
The artwork depicts the mythical phoenix in an explosion of deep blue, red, orange and gold, with intricate feather patterns and sweeping movement set against a dark background. The composition combines mythology, symbolism and extraordinary decorative detail, creating one of the most visually striking pieces in Archive 01.
Printed on a premium 100% organic cotton black T-shirt, the dark ground of the original artwork blends naturally into the garment, allowing the phoenix itself to dominate the design.
Finished with Vault-12 woven branding at the neck, sleeve and lower hem, and presented as part of the first Historic Art Collection release.
